“At St. Rose our work is not to replace you. On the other hand, we know how important you are to your children’s life and it is why with great respect, we embrace our mission, which is to support the continued mission of your ‘domestic church,’ your family, to form saints. ”

A message from our proud principal, Mr. Moo.Dear St. Rose Families,D

Dear St. Rose Families,

At St. Rose we believe that we are not passengers, we are crew. We believe every member of our community teachers and staff, parents, students, volunteers, benefactors- is a part of a team with important roles to play and much to give to St. Rose of Lima. We cannot be successful in our mission to form excellent Catholic scholars and faithful followers of Jesus if we are not working together as a crew.

Our Catholic Church teaches us that you are the primary educators and first teachers of the faith of your children. In our St. Rose crew, your role is so critical not only to your children’s academic success, but more importantly, to their growth in the faith and their formation as young men and women created in the image and likeness of God. It is why our Church, and thus St. Rose by extension, invites your family to be a ‘domestic church’ a place where your children will be able to:

  • Know and love Jesus
  • Grow in truth and virtue
  • Prepare to discover and follow the vocation or call God has for their life.

In short the mission of your family, your ‘domestic church’ is to form saints.

At St. Rose our work is not to replace you. On the other hand, we know how important you are to your children’s life and it is why with great respect, we embrace our mission, which is to support the continued mission of your ‘domestic church,’ your family, to form saints.  We are called to help you by being an extension of your mission and to in their academic and faith formation, challenge your children to know and love Jesus, grow in truth and virtue, and help them to begin to discover their gifts and talents, which will lead them to their vocation in life.

Thus, the home and school relationship, must not only be strong, but we must all be committed as a crew to living as a family of faith, so your efforts as a domestic church and our efforts the extension of that domestic church, together produce great fruit. It is why we invite you to consider some simple practices which you can practice at home and which we will commit to practicing here with your children over the course of this academic year:

  • Attending Sunday mass
  • Praying together as a family
  • Eating meals together and disconnecting yourself phones, social media
  • Celebrating the Liturgical Year

As the year goes on, we will be providing some more information on practical applications of each of these simple, yet powerful practices. Further, we will have opportunities for you and your family to join us for crew faith formation throughout the year here at the school so we can continue to grow together in faith. All we ask is that you, “Come and see,” what Jesus wants to do for you and your family.

It is a great privilege for us at St. Rose to be able to serve you this year and we cherish the opportunity to work with you to help form your children as faithful followers of Christ, as saints for this world and the next.

Sincerely in Christ,

Elias Signature
